Botox vs Fauxtox

Crows feet before tretmentFRAUD ALERT! SOME HAS HACKED INTO THIS POST AND LINKED IT TO SOME FAKE OFFER OF SAMPLES, — WHICH APPARENTLY NEVER ARRIVE.  I AM NOW GETTING EMAILS FROM PEOPLE ASKING WHERE ARE THEIR SAMPLES.. I HAVE REPORTED IT TO THE AUTHORITIES AND THEY ARE TAKING ACTION. I ALSO   WANT TO  POINT OUT THAT THE PRODUCT I DESCRIBE IN THE POST  IS NOT THE ONE IN THE FAKE OFFER. WHAT A BRUNCH OF  CREEPY LOSERS.

There are literally hundreds of exhibits  at the International Beauty Show, so when I saw that one small booth was always three deep with visitors, I had to check it out.  I managed to wiggle my way to the front ( I know, I’m a New Yorker)  to see a table  selling just one item– a small pink bottle called Instantly Ageless.  The  posters and … Continue Reading…

Don’t Miss Fashion Flash Monday!

Fashion Flash logoThis Memorial Day, Cindy of Prime Beauty is hosting Fashion Flash. Give me a roomful of skin care  products and thrity minutes and I can pick the one perfect  forumula that I need.  But when I face a counter  of make-up,  I freeze.  I can’t  decide on cream or powder blush, neutral or smoky eyeshadow and lenghtening vs volumizing mascara– and  don’t even ask me how many liners I  buy and abandon.  That is why I am so glad  that I  subscribed to Prime Beauty.  She   has a passion for  finding the  perfect make-up for every  skin type for every occasion.  Cindy  does the heavy lifting  and tried out  the new  lines of lipsticks and foundation so that I don’t waste my time  and money.

Facials and Retin A– Good Idea or Bad Idea?

Question and Answer logoQuestion:  I used to have facials  several times a year.  Now that I am using  Retin A,   can I continue  my favorite  indulgence?

Answer:  I  love facials and I love Retin A, but together they may  pose problems.  If you are using Retin A, you need to weigh three issues:

1.How long you have been on Retin A ?

2. How is your skin reacting to Retin A?

3. What kind of facial do you want to use?

If you have just started on Retin A ( less than three months),   the short answer is no.  Retin A  is irritating on purpose and adding  a facial  early in the process can be asking for trouble.  Your skin could easily react with redness and peeling  that would require  stopping Retin A  for at least a month.

If you … Continue Reading…

Invisalign – Before and After in Real TIme

Frist and final alignersWhen I started my Invisalign  program, I had been told by other dentists that either Invisalign would not work or I would need two years of metal braces that would cost more than $10,000.  Not good news.  When I  did finally find the wonderful Dr Jacquie who is one of the top  Invisalign practitioners,  I would have been happy with  just a visible improvement.  But  I started to see results so fast and the benefits  just kept coming, that I wanted more than better– I wanted  gorgeous.

The Science of a Beautiful Smile

I’m now near the end of my second set of aligners, and I’m so happy with the smile I see in the mirror. But as a science writer, the process is at least … Continue Reading…
