This is the week that I wait for all year– the designer sale at the Lighthouse Guild in NYC. From Thursday May 14 to Sunday May 17 an army of fashionistas will shop racks of Armani, Chanel, and Missoni clothing– at up to 90% off retail price. Some are lightly used while others are brand new donated by stores and manufacturers.
Last year I came home with a six foot beaver scarf from Prada, a flowered silk dress from Nina Ricci, a green linen shirtwaist from Loulou de la Falaise, and a navy blue skirt from Armani. This year I was invited to preview the POSH sale and I am so happy to report that its even better than last year. There are racks of beautiful coats that fill entire wall and an equal number of evening gowns of every color and style. If you have a wedding coming up, this should be your first stop. As I walked thru the preview I fell in love with a Gucci bag, a fur lined raincoat and a pair of red Hermes sandals.
But wait there’s more. The racks of mens jackets from Dunhill, Paul Stuart and Brooks
Bros line one side of a room while pants and jackets fill up the rest of the floor space. Jackets start at $75, pants at $25, shirts at #15 and designer silk ties at $10.
POSH sale has Great Clothes for a Great Cause
Since it began, the POSH sale has raised more than $30 million to support the work of the Lighthouse Guild. This amazing organization helps
people with impaired vision lead independent, active and productive lives. At its upper east side HQ, the Lighthouse provides education, training, advocacy and research support. The sale is organized by more than 20 dedicated volunteers and I am so grateful for their time, energy and commitment to this important fundraiser. The POSH sale allows you to take home amazing clothes at a fraction of their original cost and your participation funds a wonderful association. its doesn’t get better than that.
