Cosmprof is the world’s largest beauty show. Each year more than 1000 exhibitors present new products, tools and techniques– and it can be overwhelming. This year Cosmoprof made it so much easier to process the new and best in beauty. They grouped products into related sections so that I could focus time on a specific area- and find it again for follow-up photos and questions. I spent most of my time at four key ares:
Discover Beauty –Easy to access stations feature carefully curated start-up brands and original products. I “discovered” BlendSmart an innovative automatic brush for applying foundation– and its a game changer. I was also so impressed with a line of products designed to protect the skin from pollution. I recently published a post on the impact of trafic related pollution on your skin and Noxidoxi is packed with much needed anti-inflammatry and andtioxidant treatment. For hair I fell in love- again- with spoolies, a hair curling tool from the 60’s.
Discover Green-– Natural organic products are big and getting bigger. Now in their own section, the brands were selected for Cosmoprof with the help of Insiders Guide to Spa magazine. I was blown away by SkinYoga, a skin care line developed by three sisters that is both pure and luxurious. The genuinely natural ingredients include rice powder, green tea, rose petals and saffron and are packed so beautifully that I will keep the little boxes after the contents are used up. Another great find were natural self tanning creams from Australia-based Uni Organics.
A much appreciated new feature offered a beauty lounge using products presented at Cosmoprof. Women who were auditioning for TV home shopping lined up were especially eagar to line up for on-site hair and make-up services. While treatments were free of charge, it was suggested that a $20 donation be made to City of Hope.
Boutique– This has been one of my favorite Cosmoprof features. Twenty brands offered travel size samples including hair conditioners, masks, and nail treatments. For a $10 donation to Look Good Feel Better I was able to fill a lovely sturdy pink chest with seven products that called to me and a second $10 donation for another box that would appeal to my daughters. I love my job.
